I have been practicing martial arts since I was a child. From Jiu Jitsu to Kickboxing and at that time I also used Wing Tsun for self-defense. The problem with many martial arts is, in my opinion, that although they give a certain strength, condition and self-confidence (which is basically positive), in reality they are very difficult to apply, because they are partly built up against natural reactions. Unfortunately, I might experience these reactions at first hand. Krav Maga is not a martial art, but a realistic and also well practicable self-defence system. Although almost every provider of a martial or self-defence art advertises the quick and easy learnability of the respective system, I cannot really confirm this in my experience. Especially as easy to learn does not mean that it is easy to use. Especially when stress and adrenalin are involved. Since 2013 I have been practicing Krav Maga and reached instructor status in early 2017. I can say with deep conviction that there is no better, because more intuitive system for me than Krav Maga. I teach this in Krav Maga classes and in children’s training in a playful way, but with the necessary seriousness.
