After checking out i walked back to the train station (i wanted to take a taxi, but somehow i couldn’t stop one and after some minutes i didn’t really cared anymore. It wasn’t that far.) After about twenty minutes of waiting ( i just missed the connection before by about a minute) i drove directly back to the airport and searched my luggage-drop-off-point. Security Interview was quick & nice, compared to Frankfurt back home. For the waiting time to … Weiterlesen

Back in Tel Aviv, day 2
My last day in Tel Aviv & Israel. After having breakfast i start to walk around again, this time more in the north-eastern direction of my hotel. An artwork on the Jitzchak-Rabin-Square. Kinda peaceful, but about two minutes later loudspeakers were blaring, and policemen in flak vests were hushing the people from the right side of the sqaure and putting up some barrier tape. Looks like some forgotten bag in an offgoing street had triggered official paranoia. After about ten … Weiterlesen
Back in Tel Aviv, day 1
While trying to catch a tour on a citybus, i was walking at the „Port“ area of Tel Aviv, but without luck. Compared to other countries these citybusss seem to only drive about every two hours instead of an hourly rythm, and i couldn’t find any clearly labelled bus stops with agents, as usual. Its mre like the busses are driving always on and you need to be at the correct street and then also be able to signal them … Weiterlesen
Jerusalem back to Tel Aviv
Today was mostly just driving with the train back to Jerusalem and visiting a business contact out in Bnei-Brak. Meaning, breakfast & checkout at the hotel, taking the taxi to the Melcha train station and having a nice talk with the girl from security, before having a nice train ride with a view :) I spend several hours with my contact and got a really interesting introduction to their tool, before getting back with the taxi to central Tel Aviv. … Weiterlesen
Jerusalem day 2
Wake up earlier today, breakfast, but still i’m already too late for a city bus tour. For killing time i’m walking around Erek Refaim area (greek colony, german colony) in search of a mailbox for my postcards and doing some sightseeing of the living areas. Israel already implements enegry transmission via wireless distribution! ;-) A panoramic shot during one of the bus stops. „Holyland“, a development project in Jeruslam for which several high ranking politicians were sentenced that week to quite … Weiterlesen
Yad Vashem
Sorrow enshrouds my soul like a coatMade out the black feathers of an angels wingTears falling into the red dust like driplets of blood..
Jerusalem day 1
After sleeping in duer feasting the evening before ;-) i drop all sports clothing for pickup by a laundry service and walk out in direction of the Old City. After wlaking through some park and backyard streets i arrive, and further on through old narrow streets and the all-around bazaar / souk. Spending the full afternoon walking around, i manage to see a lot of backyards, but also the „big“ tourist places, like the wailing wall.During this i do also a small … Weiterlesen
Day 4 / Level testing & departure
Day 4, level testing… Mood: fuckyoufuckmewhyamidoingthisagain? As usual for me, a lot of anxiety / wannathrowup & my trainingspartner Ed from Bristol/UK doesn’t participate in testing, which sucks a lot. Well, heck, what could go wrong? Probably just someone meticuolus as examiner, and… Avi Moyal as examiner for P4/5 group, aww SHOOT. Main goal: do not throw up on Avis shoes Second: finish this damn test at all Third: get feedback „from the source“ Very optional fourth: pass Marcus is giving the … Weiterlesen
Day 3
In the morning slot our last curriculum training took place, which was a bit pity.. because we all felt not really „ready“ for grading. The usual feeling upfront of a grading, probably ;-) But it was closed with a nice recap drill by Israel Cohen, which consisted of us running between two endpoints of a line, where a partner stood, and attacked/worked with us according to the current time to the drill. First run (1min): unarmed attacks (punches, chokes, headlocks) … Weiterlesen
Day 2
In the morning again training in groups on our respective curriculum. P1/P2 working on correct „standing up“. In the afternoon slot a seminar on „natural reflexes“ was given by Shlomi Moyal. My opinion: The lecture was good, but the practical application afterwards got weird for advanced, because we should only do instinctive body movements and grips, and then just knee and punch the shit out of each other / „the attackers“ – meaning NO application of drilled techniques whatever… Which … Weiterlesen
